How many sessions will I need?

This very much depends on the individual needs of each client and the difficulties they are currently facing. I have experience working on a short term basis, which is typically around 6-12 sessions. I also work with long-term clients on an ongoing basis (12+ sessions). The duration of therapy is assessed regularly. I welcome clients to reassess timescales and goals whenever they wish and also provide more structured periodic review sessions, as often desires and goals shift and change throughout the duration of therapy.

Are you able to see clients online?

Yes, I also work online and via Zoom or Whatsapp Video Call.

What are your fees?

Sessions are priced at £60.00.

I have an allocation for a number of sessions at a reduced rate. These sessions are reserved for students and people on lower incomes. Please contact me for current availability and for more information.

How often will I need sessions?

Weekly sessions are recommended, with each of these sessions being 50 minutes long. This allows for continuity and helps establish the relationship. I can offer fortnightly sessions in some circumstances.

What is your current availability and do you have a waiting list?

My availability changes regularly and at present I have capacity to see new clients. At times I do operate a small waiting list, however I will always be realistic about how long it may take until I have availability, as it may me more appropriate to find a therapist with immediate availability.

Are the sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is very important in counselling and helps provide a safe space for you to feel comfortable to discuss whatever you wish to. Sessions are confidential and this also applies to any records I keep, which are held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Confidentiality may be broken, but only in exceptional circumstances, for example if I felt that you may be of serious risk of harm to yourself another person. In these rare cases, I would endeavour to discuss this potential breach in confidentiality with you directly.

Do you work with young people or couples?

No, I specialise in working with adults on a one to one basis and can currently only accept clients of 18 years and above.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24 hour notice policy. If you are unable to attend a session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. If notice is not given, the normal charge is applicable and this will be made payable before our next scheduled session.

I have covered some of the more frequently asked questions here, however if you would like any further clarification or have additional questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
